DMV website redesign and migration

DMV website redesign and migration

DMV Pools&Waterparks
2 months
Project duration
Goal
Migrate from WordPress to Laravel and modernise the design
Task
Move a website built in 2013 from WordPress to a modern framework without losing Google rankings, refresh the design and give the client's team convenient content management. The old theme, a stack of plugins and a slow admin panel no longer met the business needs.
Client DMV Pools&Waterparks
Design, construction, reconstruction and maintenance of pools and water parks on a turnkey basis. Over 20 years on the market, 300+ completed projects, including the Karpatia, Atlantida and Dream Island water parks. Official importer of Fluidra (AstralPool) equipment.

About the project

DMV Pools&Waterparks is an engineering company that builds and services pools and water parks across Ukraine. The dmv.com.ua website had been running on WordPress since 2013, built with a custom theme, a custom field builder, a multilingual plugin and a dedicated URL plugin. Over the years the content grew to 288 items in two languages and 2.3 GB of photos, while the site became slow and fragile: every plugin update risked breaking something.

At the same time the project had strong search rankings for hundreds of pool construction queries. So the client's main condition was to lose nothing. Rather than porting the legacy WordPress code, we built a new Laravel site from scratch and migrated all the data: 94 blog articles, 31 case studies, 25 services, service pages, photos and reviews. Every old URL got its counterpart on the new site.

Structure

The structure was built from the keyword core: 440 Ukrainian and 1,320 Russian queries with existing rankings, each with its own landing page. The Ukrainian version lives at the site root, the Russian one under /ru/, and the old URLs of both languages, together with photo links, are mapped in 319 redirects. Service pages were standardised into a single modular layout: a hero banner with key benefits, a table of contents, a trust block, pool types, packages, work stages, cases, reviews, an FAQ with Schema.org markup and a request form. The long texts of the old site were kept: they are what holds the rankings.

The portfolio got 31 project pages with galleries, facts about the project and an offer of the matching service. Blog articles have a table of contents, share buttons and a summary for AI assistants. For sales we added a pool cost calculator and lead forms that arrive by email and Telegram. Site admins update page content via a block builder, edit menus, upload XLSX price lists and manage files without developer assistance.

Design

We started from the client's brand book: ocean blue, sun yellow and graphite, a vector logo and a single typeface, Onest, for headings and body text. Large project photos, clear headings and yellow action buttons lead the visitor to a request on every page. On mobile everything stays convenient: the menu, sliders, the calculator and a sticky bar with an order button.

We did not draw a single mockup. We prepared three clickable concepts on the site's live data for the client: the current style, the dark premium Deep Water and the light engineering Aqua Tech, switchable right on the page. Explore the interactive DMV design concepts.

Result

  • The new site went live on 15 October 2026 by swapping hosting directories with no DNS change, with just a few minutes of downtime;
  • all old URLs lead to the new pages via 301 redirects; analytics and Search Console were kept;
  • the keyword core is covered by the new site's texts at 88% in Ukrainian and 94% in Russian even before content optimisation starts;
  • form requests are stored in the admin panel, duplicated by email and Telegram, and protected from spam;
  • the client's team edits pages, menus, prices and users on their own.

The site has moved to maintenance and SEO support: the next stage is content and rankings on the new platform.
